The List

I am definitely an optimist. That is, for the most part, a good thing. But what accompanies sunny optimism all too often is the surprising disappointment that comes when something--or someone--fails you. You think to yourself, Well, I should have seen that one coming. But you never learn, and then it happens again. The upside is that you start to develop "The List". That is, the list of people and things that don't ever disappoint. There is something comforting about the old-faithfuls on The List; they bring their own kind of order to a messy world. Here, in no particular order, is a partial sampling of my list.

Orbit Chewing Gum. (Mostly clean mint, but wintermint will do in a pinch.)
Chrisian Louboutin Black Satin Pumps. (They go with everything and make even jeans look put together)
Dial Antibacterial Deodorant Bar Soap. (In Spring Water scent...gotta smell fresh)
The Dyson vacuum. (The purple one. I have no idea what model it that is. I wish it had a retractable cord, but you can't have everything you want.)
Black Dior Diorshow Waterproof Mascara. (This is the only makeup I wear everyday other than the next item. Wash my face, swish on some lip gloss, and put on my Diorshow Mascara)
LipFusion Color Shine. (It makes it look like my lips are naturally full)
Anna Corinna Bag. (A leather bag so smart, it makes all others seem obsolete. I've always got alot to carry so I pack it all in here. Diapers, novels, cell phone, hairbrushes...you name it, it's in here)
Peet's coffee. (Sometimes I plan my whole morning around this)
Spri Xercise Ball. (Sometimes I can't make it to the gym or don't have time to run...this saves me)
My dog Iggy (Man's best friend? More like woman's best friend)
Scunci No-Slip Grip Hairbands (I may start out with my hair down most days but end up in a ponytail almost everyday and these never fall out, they also make the only bands that are in my hair color.)
Nexxus Therappe Shampoo (I have to shower everyday, and this keeps my hair from drying out. Plus it has a DELICIOUS scent)
Volvo SUV (It's navy blue and I use it to go everywhere...I've had it for three years now, and no problems. It also makes me feel safe knowing that there are more than 12 air bags protecting my kids and I)
